what's next for Red Velvet???

good question... :) we have lots of exciting plans to share with you soon... Red Velvet is for *fun*... it has always been a refreshing and inspiring part of life for Rach and I since we started this journey 3 or so years ago....

I have a few questions for you...
What kinds of projects would you like to see on the RV blog in the future?
Do you want instructions or just eye candy?
Would you be interested in taking an online craft or art journal class?
What are your favorite things you have seen on our blog?
Would you like an opportunity to become more involved in Red Velvet Art?
What are your favorite hobbies?
What kinds of crafting kits would you be interested in?

If you have a few minutes to answer a few ??s for us that would be rad! :) We will choose one winner (from the people who answer the questions) in 24 hours to send a little box of RV handmade goodies to! :)

Thanks! :) Rachel, Elsie & Emma

Some of my favorites from the blog: I love all of the baby stuff in the Red Velvet etsy shop. I especially love the blankets and burp cloths.

I would love more instructions and tutorials on the blog. I am a beginning seamstress and it was the perfect task to add to my wish list because it seemed easy! Also, I am a new reader and so everything seems new and fun, so even if they are repeats of other posts you've done, it would be fun for me.

Hey Girls

Keep up the good work, I don't know how you fit it in with all the other things you do! Yes please to seeing both eye candy and instructions on the site. I would love to see some more alternate fabric ideas and also some more mini books and alternate scrap projects to possibly give as gifts to loved ones on holidays or birthdays. I would be interested in taking short online craft or journal classes which vary from the ones you can already take online. I work from home as I have three children under 7 and I work with fabric, wood and paper making children's peg hooks, bedding, gifts and particularly shaker style christmas decorations. So keep bringing on the inspiration. Have you considered having some guest designers? I love the projects were you have blurred the boundaries between particular hobbies. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Happy Crafting

What kinds of projects would you like to see on the RV blog in the future?
I like simple, practical things - purses/bags are good, altered art/wearables (tees, shoes, etc) are cool, anything with paper.

Do you want instructions or just eye candy?
I like a mix of both actually. Instructions are helpful, as they stop us from buggin ya'll with details ;) Love more candy :)

Would you be interested in taking an online craft or art journal class?
Yes to both. That'd be a blast!

What are your favorite things you have seen on our blog?
It's a tie - the bag from yesterday was adorable (but I think past my sewing level, sadly) and the box Elsie made for her brother. Love them! P.S. LOVED the card exhange. Seriously fun!

Sure, if you ever needed any help, I'm in!

First of all, I want to let you know that I LOVE your RV blog...You gals are very creative!!

Here goes....

What kinds of projects would you like to see on the RV blog in the future? I would love to continue seeing a variety of things. Although I do not sew (or I should say only when I have to!) your creations inspire me in my other crafts...BUT, I would love to see some animals and jewelry (sewn, of course!) and even possibly accessories (purses, etc.)

Do you want instructions or just eye candy? I enjoy both. I like to look but I enjoy the instructions too.

Would you be interested in taking an online craft or art journal class? YES YES YES That is really something I would want to do. I especially would be interested in your art journal class. The books you make are magical!

What are your favorite things you have seen on our blog? I am a big fan of anything mini...your mini books are to die for...and of course, your journals. I also like anything that you alter. I try very hard to alter projects but it seems like mine are always lacking something. Do you suppose it is just the confidence to "put them out there"?

Would you like an opportunity to become more involved in Red Velvet Art? Sure, but the question is AM I GOOD ENOUGH?

What are your favorite hobbies? I love paper crafting - scrapping, rubber stamping, altering stuff, and just plain creating...I am also an avid reader. I will read just about anything.

What kinds of crafting kits would you be interested in? If the contents of the kits were versatile I would be interested in just about anything. If it were a sewing kit - for just about anything other than animals or purses and maybe jewlery - I would probably not be into it. However, you never know. I might look at those 'ingredients' and think of something else to use them with.

Keep up the good work. I absolutely love this blog. I stumbled upon it quite accidentally and now I check it regularly!

Okay I am not sure if this counts. Your fashion style. Things you hate, love, and the things that you are so over. Love your fashion sense.

Okay and now that I am finished with that. Ummm.
I would like to know a little more about Emma as well. We don't hear from her too often.

Love instructions as well.

An online course would be fun.

I loved the old journals and I love the things that Racheal has been posting.

I would love to become more involved with Red Velvet. You guys should so open up a cafe press shop.

My favorite hobbies. Dressing my daughter in the lastest fashion. She is two and it is too cute. You should see her in her converse. Oh and of course scrapbooking.

Fabric and scrap kits would be very cool.

Okay. Happy blogging.

OOooO! A RV artsy/bloggy survey...how fun! =)

Here's what I think...
1. What kinds of projects would you like to see on the RV blog in the future?
I love the way they are mixed up around here...from sewing to paper crafts to embellishing stuff. It's all good.
2.Do you want instructions or just eye candy? Again, I have to say that I enjoy a bit of both. One can never have 'too much eye candy' and inspiration. If something is more involved or complex, it's always a bonus to get some step-by-step instructions.
3.Would you be interested in taking an online craft or art journal class? Yeah. I would definitely do this here at RVA.
4.What are your favorite things you have seen on our blog? I like the 'simple stuff'...like the flowers added to the knit hats, and just the ideas for projects...like the cards on Valentine's Day. I like stuff I would actually do myself, or adapt to something I am working on at the time. Fun, {funky helps too!} practical stuff. =)
5. Would you like an opportunity to become more involved in Red Velvet Art? Yes to this too. =)
6. What are your favorite hobbies?
Scrapbooking, reading blogs =), cooking, graphic design
7. What kinds of crafting kits would you be interested in? From Red Velvet?! Definitely kits with a little 'kitschey' edge...anything with fabric! And buttons...you can use that stuff on anything...from tshirts, to lamps to scrap pages and books. Anything with flair! =)

This was like my blog-post-dream-come-true!

I have found so much inspiration here in the past few weeks. I got my sewing maching out again when Rachel posted the tutorial for making the change purse, and I haven't put it away since! So much fun with fabric! I will take some pictures and post the link here later today! So thank you for all the fun fabric-y things lately.

Now on to the questions.

What type of projects? Anything that uses fabric. Either alone, or mixed with paper/buttons/photos.

Instructions or eye candy? I think I'd like a little of both. I liked the instructions for the tiny pouch, because I had never sewn in a zipper before. So maybe instructions for some new techniques? But then I also love seeing what else you guys come up with using basic sewing, and those don't really need much explanation (at least not for me.)

Taking an online class: ABSOLUTELY!

Favorite things on your blog: I love seeing the details that you add to your projects (extra buttons on the anchor bag - loved those!). I also like to see what everyday things you use to make awesome projects.

Would I like an opportunity to get involved? Without a doubt. That would be very cool.

My favorite hobbies: Sewing is on the top of the list right now! Both fun little projects and making quilts. I love scrapbooking, too. I'm going to CKU in April, so I keep telling myself that it's okay to indulge in the fabric now, because CKU will pour me right back into the scrapbooking fun! Other hobbies are decorating my house, reading memoirs, and finding fun new songs on iTunes.

What kind of kits: I think a combination of fabric, trims, buttons, and paper would be fabulous.

Thank you guys so much for sharing YOUR inspirations with all of us on this blog. It's very much appreciated!

hi girls, here are some answers!

Would I like to see eyecandy or instructions? Both! I love to see what original and creative things you have made but I also loved the christmasgifts ideas a lot!

What kind of projects I would like to see on this blog?
Wow so many! Clothing is always a good thing for us girls isn't it? Bags, books, (art)journals, pillows etc maybe a monthly assignment or so for an art journal or a contest to draw more attention to red velvet?

Classes and kits are great but unfortunately I can't afford them (shipping to holland is very pricy) but I am sure the other girls would love it!

My hobbies? Anything creative! I love scrapbooking, photography, writing, crafts, drawing and painting the most. I am still stugling with my sewing machine and try to embellish t-shirts and make clothing myself.

Would I like to be involved?
Ofcourse! I love working with creative souls like you!
I hope this is of help to you! Good luck and I will keep coming back here!
love
angela

I love the modifying old projects you've shown before (i.e. dressing up an old t-shirt with ribbon). I'd love to see more of this type, you can just pick up stuff you have around the house & go without a trip to the store.

I'd love to see instructions WITH eye candy, so I can make sure I understand correctly.

I'd love to take an online class to ask questions & get inspired.

I love almost everything I've seen so far.
I'd be interested in hearing HOW to be more involved in RVA.

I love a variety of crafts - knit/crochet, easy sewing, embroidery, digital scrapbooking, altered arts, and any way I can use multiples of these together, especially if I can use computer fonts or digi-scrap tools in my traditional crafting.

Thanks for the survey, can't wait to see what's next.

Here are some of my thoughts.

1. different ideas for velvet other than embossing on it.
2. both
3. yes, both
4. the fabric projects b/c I really don't have much experience with it, hence the instructions would be great for something like that.
5. absolutely
6. papercrafting, altered art, scrapping, painting, interior design
7. seosonal, but the typically seasonal. I have no idea if that made sense. It did in my head.

xoxo~

I'm a scrapbooker but I love seeing the fabric crafts too. I was into quilts before I found scrapbooking and would like to use more fabric on my pages. I would like instructions because if I say just eye candy then I know I'll be like - how'd they do that?? - on something! I love the idea of classes but I just dont' have it in my budget to take them right now - I would rather spend my precious scrappy funds on product! I loved the "Little Dreamer" thing - beautiful! Sure I would like to become more involved - how? My hobby is scrapbooking - it leaves little time for anything else! Crafting kits...hmmm....um I don't know. Sorry - can't think of anything good right off. Very cool blog - keep it up!
